Consol girls get national title

PORTLAND, Ore. - The A&M Consolidated girls track team has won an Internet national title for the third consecutive year, earning another $10,000 in equipment from Nike.

Consol finished first in the 2007 Nike Web Nationals, an event in which more than 450 teams from around the nation competed. Team scores were determined by comparing top times and distances to award points.

Desert Vista High School of Phoenix won the boys title, with The Woodlands third.

Consol's girls finished with 7,851 points, topping DeSoto by 43 points. Top Consol performers included Kirsten Harris, Whitney Harris, Keri Wood and Annabelle Everitt.
